New: Three Mini Calculators for Quick Calculations

Three new mini calculators are now available on pv-calor.com. These focused tools deliver quick results for specific calculation tasks – without project creation and with minimal input.

What Are Mini Calculators?

Mini calculators are tools focused on a specific calculation. Unlike our full calculators (heat load calculator, heat pump calculator, solar calculator), they skip extensive input forms and deliver results immediately.

Ideal for:

  • Initial estimates before detailed planning
  • Single rooms instead of entire buildings
  • Quick verification of estimated values
  • Simple calculations without registration

The Three New Mini Calculators

1. Room Heat Load Calculator

The Room Heat Load Calculator calculates the heat load of a single room according to DIN EN 12831-1. It determines the required heating capacity for sizing radiators or underfloor heating.

Input Output
Room area and height Transmission heat losses
External walls and windows Ventilation heat losses
Building age / insulation standard Reheat allowance
Adjacent rooms Total heat load in Watts

Typical applications:

  • Radiator sizing during renovation
  • Checking existing heating surfaces
  • Quick estimate for a single room

2. PV Yield Calculator

The PV Yield Calculator calculates the expected annual yield of a photovoltaic system. Based on real PVGIS satellite data, it provides a location-accurate forecast.

Input Output
Location (postal code) Annual yield in kWh
System power (kWp) Specific yield (kWh/kWp)
Orientation and tilt Monthly yield distribution

Typical applications:

  • Initial estimate before quote preparation
  • Comparing different roof surfaces
  • Plausibility check of installer quotes

To the calculator: Open PV Yield Calculator

3. Consumption-Based Heat Load Calculator

The Consumption-Based Heat Load Calculator determines a building's heat load from actual energy consumption. Instead of extensive building surveys, the annual consumption of gas, oil, or pellets is sufficient.

Input Output
Energy source (gas, oil, pellets, district heating, electricity) Heat load in kW
Annual consumption Full load hours
Building area Specific heat load (W/m²)
Location (postal code) Degree hours from PVGIS climate data

Typical applications:

  • Quick heat load estimate before heat pump planning
  • Plausibility check of calculated heat loads
  • Comparison with standard calculation per DIN EN 12831

Mini Calculators vs. Full Calculators

Criterion Mini Calculator Full Calculator
Input effort Minimal (5-10 fields) Extensive (many rooms/details)
Accuracy Good approximation Standard-compliant precision
Project creation Not required Optional with saving
PDF export Not available Available
Multiple rooms Single room Any number
Recommendation Initial estimate Detailed planning

Embed Mini Calculators on Your Website

All mini calculators can be embedded free of charge on your own website. Integration uses just a few lines of HTML code and works on all platforms (WordPress, Joomla, static pages).

Benefits for website operators:

  • Permanently free
  • Responsive design (desktop, tablet, smartphone)
  • Automatic updates
  • 11 languages available

The embedding instructions with code snippets can be found at the bottom of each mini calculator page.
